If you’re looking for outdoor activities, head west to Stanley Park, where you can hike, play on the beach, take a swim, have a picnic, and much more. Or head up to the Capilano Suspension Bridge, a breathtaking bridge and nature area that winds through—and over—giant evergreens. Closer to the Convention Centre, visit one of the picturesque beaches that dot the city, including Sunset Beach and Kitsilano Beach.

There’s plenty to do for the less outdoorsy folks, too. Granville Island Public Market features shops and places to eat, a free outdoor water park, and a market devoted exclusively to kids. If you want to stay near the Convention Centre, the Robson Street shopping district is a short walk from the event. Vancouver also has a vibrant Asian community, and the annual Chinatown Festival (which takes place the same weekend) will certainly be entertaining!

The Pokémon World Championships are sure to be a blast for everyone who visits, but don’t miss this opportunity to check out everything else Vancouver has to offer!
