Will Ray repeat and be the first 3-peat Champion? We’ll have to wait and see, but he seems to be very confident in his team and strategy so far.
How did you build your team for this event? Did you see what everyone else was using or just go your own way?
I was just training with friends online. I have a group of friends that I train with, so we’ve been bouncing around ideas. So, that’s how I mainly train.
We’ve asked you before, but do you help other players with their teams and strategies?
Yeah, when people ask me for advice, I give it to them. But I try not to make teams for other people and simply help them with the teams they’ve already chosen themselves.
So far in what you’ve seen, what do you think of the spread of Pokémon in the tournament?
I like it a lot, because there’s a lot of Pokémon you can choose from. And I’ve seen a lot of creative teams, so it’s been fun so far.
Have you seen any surprise teams, or are you seeing a lot of what you were expecting?
I’ve seen a lot of what I expected, but my first round opponent had a really interesting team. It was different from what everyone else was using, so I liked that.
We’ve seen a lot of Latios. Is there a reason most players are using that Pokémon?
There are actually a lot of all of the Dragon-type Pokémon. There’s only one type that is resistant against the Dragon type, the Steel type, so they can do a lot of damage.
Do you think you’ll switch up your strategy in the next few rounds?
Well, it’s worked well for me so far, so I think I’m going to stick with it.
Good luck, Ray!
